Am I watching great defense tonight or just really really bad offense? Neither team looks like they've played together before.
BTW: There's no way that was a fumble. Pittsburgh's receiver didn't make a football move with the ball. Bad call already.

My call is bad defense, and because I'm bias, on the fence with the fumble call. :p
TJ Watt....alrighty then. ;) ;)
Congrats Moe! Welcome to the win column.
Thanks Ms M, although that injury to Nick Chubb...I feel so bad!
And I'll watch again this morning....that, I thought, was no fumble.:p
That wound up interesting. I wonder if Cleveland's thinking about their $250 million fully guaranteed investment in DeShaun Watson this morning?
I just saw the Nick Chubb injury for the first time. I'm sorry to feel this way, but Minkah Fitzpatrick should be ashamed for going low in that situation. You never go low on a player who is engaged by another player for this reason. To make it worse, going low to tackle a player ALWAYS results in the player going forward for another yard or two and they were inside the five yard line. He should have wrapped him up to stop his forward progress.
I don't care for either team, but I don't like that at all. Meanwhile, Fitzpatrick was admitted to the hospital for unspecified injury today.
Chest injury, Jerry. He was having problems breathing. In Tomlin's press conference he said Fitzpatrick is "better." I haven't heard anything about Chubb's current status. But I'm glad they didn't show it. I saw it & my comments are not for posting.
Now...about Watson's 2 facemasks?
Let's face it; our defense won that game. The offense was anemic.....time to go Matt Canada. I did like Pickens's TD, though.
Absolutely, Moe. Defense definitely showed up last night and Pickens balled out. Pickett looked lost for most of the night. Chubb's injury was sickening and I'll honestly be surprised if he plays again. So unnecessary.
I am so glad neither of my teams succeeded in obtaining Watson. Something's not right with him. Two facemasks was ridiculous, especially when you can stiff arm a player in the face, you just can't grab the facemask. He's just not good enough to justify 20% of the salary cap being in his pocket and I couldn't be happier for the Browns to be learning that lesson instead of Atlanta or Miami.
And here's another horrible tragedy:
A Patriot 30 yr season ticket holder was punched in the face by a Dolphins fan Sunday night.
He fell, hit his head on the ground, never regaining consciousness. What are we coming to?? RIP.:[[
I just read an account of that. That guy left three kids and a widow. It can be fun to talk trash and get into tit-for-tat in the stands with fans of opposing teams. But in the end, it's just a game. If your team loses, accept it and go home. If your team wins, be happy and call it a day. We live in such an angry society, we'll probably soon have people tossed for trash talk in order to prevent this sort of thing from happening.
This is why I prefer watching games from the comfort of my own home!!!!!!
Morning Ms M, I know we're only coming into week 3 of the season. But, I kinda like not having to fight the crowds at the stadium. And I don't have to go to Timbuktu to go to the bathroom.
I hate crowds... generally. But dang, the whole stadium experience is becoming harder and harder to have because of the cost. The concession prices in Atlanta's stadium are known for being ridiculously affordable [which is great!] but the cheapest parking pass costs nearly $24. Even with low concession costs, you can't take your kid to the game and get out for less than $250.
I just read an account of someone complaining about going to see his kids participate in high school sports. He said that he paid $14 for tickets and $12 to park. I think he said that spends around $60 per night to support his son in football at home and away and also that he goes to other pricey events to support his daughter, who is a cheerleader. For a high school game, that's ridiculous.
I know that locally, if someone wants to tailgate at Ohio Stadium, they have to purchase a $1,000 yearly pass allowing it. It might be more now; they started it a decade ago. Average people cannot afford to go to live events anymore if they didn't luck into season tickets when the rights opened up when the stadium was built. Personally, if I had season tickets I'd watch 5 games per year and sell the other 3-4 to pay for the tickets.
Well ms m...your boyz are on a roll aren't they? Heck with the cupcake early games they have they'll be undefeated until maybe the fifth game or so, enjoy it,because after san fran it gets tougher...we're comin down for turkey day..and we're bringin our own cupcakes...enjoy first place for now!!!
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa...i'm talkin all this smack about dallas, with buffalo coming to kick our butts...yikes!!!
Minkah Fitzpatrick is defending his dirty hit on Nick Chubb. I wonder if he'd buy what he's selling if somebody did it to him?
Ouch. Trevon Diggs is out for the season with a torn ACL. Dallas has a deep defense but this is still a huge loss.
In practice? Ohhh, what a loss!!!!
The Gilmore acquisition looks even better now. I hate it when players get hurt, especially young guys. At least Diggs got his loot. Chubb lost millions after his injury on Monday night.
By the way: Mikah Parsons makes everybody on Dan Quinn's defense look better, so the Boyz' D will be fine.
Before we bowled today, my brother went on record saying Fitzpatrick's hit wasn't dirty. He said it it was dirty, then Pittsburgh has a long list of grievances because they're always taking those shots.
I told him Fitzpatrick isn't [necessarily] a dirty player but that in my esteemed opinion, there are several reasons why I believe it was a dirty play. Let's just say that we agreed to disagree before we both moved on.
Wish I could've witnessed your conversation with him.
More conversations about Matt Canada than anything else now. I'll be very surprised if they dump him mid season [they just don't do that].
There is such a contrast down here in Tennessee. Although they have the Titans [which are in Nashville] there is no talk. I could schedule an appointment today because the Tennessee Vols play at 4pm so it was ok......SEC is HUGE business here!!!
It was one of the few things that he and I disagree about. Our other brother is the one who is contentious about pretty much everything and can't admit when he's wrong. He's a Vikings fan [when they're playing well] and takes great joy lobbing shots at the Steelers to get our eldest brother riled up. And I won't mention Matt Canada because he was on his crap list two seasons ago and he wonders why he's still employed.
He couldn't stand the fact that the Steelers started literally every drive by running Najee up the middle on the first play. If you run the same play every single time, it gives the defense the advantage by setting up formation for it. Consequently, Big Bro said they were always beginning drives with 2nd-and-long situations. I guess Canada finally was convinced that was a dumb way for an offensive coordinator to do his job.
All I can say is that I didn't like your offense on Monday night. No imagination at all and he didn't put your best skill players in position to succeed [except for the pass where Pickens got the long touchdown]. To be fair, I was watching both games on Monday night and every team seemed to be stuck in mud. I'd be concerned about Pickett's apparent regression. Most folks thought he'd get off to a much better start.
Good news for the Browns: Nick Chubb is now thought to have only torn his MCL, with no tears to either his ACL or LCL. That means he has a greater chance of returning by next season. I hope he makes a complete recovery and returns with a vengeance.
Although Chubb is a Brown I wish him the best. He is such a good player & a good person.
I'm sure my neighbor across the street will breath a sigh of relief if only an MCL.
This is a bad time for running backs, the league wants to phase em out which is silly to me...well buffalo is here so i gotta put on my[big boy]shoulder pads and face em!!
You go, R&B....
And the best to Jerry - Falcons/Lions, Dolphins/ Broncos
Ms M - Cowboys/ Cardinals
Steelers/Raiders - Tonight
Let's Roll!!
I was rolling with the Dirty Birds but had to leave 'em to swim with the Dolphins.:D
...and may I add, they are frolicking their butts off. LOL
20 more minutes and I'm off to see my Boyz!!!!!
BTW Jai....OUCH!!!!
HAHAHHH
This is crazy. I think it's safe to call this one done so congrats Jerry. They kicked and still kicking serious butt!
Personally, I would have gone for the record. They are ALREADY embarrassed, so what's three more points. lol
Dolphins scored the third highest number in history!! WOW!! Congrats Jerry!!
Indy beats the Ravens with a FG in OT....never expected that
Field goal doesn't have the same ring to it but I'll take it. We've got to up our game SOON!!!!
Finally
touchdown
I'm not even mad cause I wanted them to go for it. Oh well.
It's been an... interesting day for my football teams. I awe struck for different reasons for each of them.
BTW: The officials just missed a call in the Cowboys/Cardinals game. Joshua Dobbs was holding the ball in the end zone when a holding foul occurred. That's supposed to be a safety and they didn't award it. That's significant because the score would be 21-18 right now instead of 21-16. I'm pretty sure Dallas is going to win this game though.
NOT feeling as confident as you Jerry but it ain't over till, yada, yada, yada.
Question, he was holding before we got to the end zone, does that 2 point safety still apply?
It used to be a safety if an offensive player committed a penalty when a teammate had the ball in the end zone. Maybe they changed it, but if so, I don't know why because it makes sense that the penalty was taken to avoid taking a loss in the end zone [which would be a safety]. I want to know more about that one.
Dallas needs to find the end zone quick. They're wasting way too much time.
