Nope, first appearance here! LOL! This is one of my favorites from the Fall of '78. Partied hard to it.

Isley Brothers' T-Neck years were iconic. More great songs than I can name from just my memory.

Ronald Isley might be on the same mountain of unmistakable voices that Sam Cooke, Nat "King" Cole and Louis Armstrong are on.

They were two-hit wonders. What about Musical Youth, which was a one-hit wonder? There's no way their sad story should have ended the way it did. Can you imagine being so young and talented only to have everything unravel after an international hit with your first single?

Ready or not-the delphonics
In my opinion, she had the misfortune of releasing a perfect 10 as her first album. Very seldom do you get a record where every song is absolutely perfect but that one might have been it. Sets such a high bar that she couldn't possibly match, even if she had two or three excellent songs on her next record. We've seen it happen before. In my opinion, Michael Jackson never rose to the level of Thriller or Off The Wall again and it's why I wasn't a big fan of his in the '90s like I was in the '80s.
Well you know, I have a connection to a lot of people. Not by choice, just by life. I use to pay $5 to see Anita Baker sing with her original band Chapter 8 in 1980. Her first solo album was actually " The Songstress" in 1983. Even though she is from my hometown and went to my high school for a short time, I had forgotten her. Another guy from Toledo who had moved to Denver after I did was raving about this new girl singer from Toledo. It was Anita Baker. The last time I saw her, we flew from NYC to Detroit Christmas 2006, first class..........hehehehehe! Anita is the type of artists that you can always count on liking at least one song on her albums. Luckily, I liked 90 % of her music. It's not well known that she is still performing after announcing her retirement 2 years ago. She'll be playing Montreux July 8th.

I think this is the only song of theirs I remember. I had just start college in Denver and their only black station, KDKO use to play it. That's where I first heard it. The video is totally new to me. The song came out before MTV, so there really was not an outlet on TV for promo videos yet.
Just be true-gene chandler.
One of the most popular songs from my high school days:
