Lupita Tovar [[mother of Susan 'Imitation Of Life' Kohner) is the oldest notable actress still living and, at 105 years old, is among the oldest ever. She is due to be 106 years old on July 27th.

The oldest, most notable of actresses still alive is indeed Olivia de Havilland, who will be 100 years old , again in July [[1st)......

I love Lupita, she is excellent in the 1931 Spanish language version of "Dracula". While the classic Bela Lugosi version was being filmed during the day, at night a different cast and director would come in to film the Spanish language version on the same sets. She was about 20 at the time.

A special mention here for Luise Rainer, who passed away in London in 2014, at the age of 104....:)

Eli Wallach also passed away in 2014, aged 98.

Joan Fontaine also passed, in 2013, aged 96....and which is Marge Champion's current age......

Carol Channing, 95.

I just read an interview Olivia De Havilland did & why she chose to leave Hollywood &
live in Paris.

Did it mention if Olivia de Havilland made her peace with her sister Joan Fontaine, before she passed away? I don't think it happened, and it sounds as if the ill-feeling was far more from Joan, than Olivia.

They are still the only siblings to have won Academy Awards in leading roles.

Cole Porter. What a talent, a composer of both words and music. So many of my favorite Great American Songbook songs are from his pen. Among my faves “You Do Something To Me” “Do I Love You?” “After You, Who?” “Just One Of Those Things” and “Anything Goes”.

In 1965, a year after Cole’s passing Julie London [[backed by the Bud Shank Quintet) released the tribute album “All Through Night”. I was unaware of the album then but in later years it would become one of my favorite [[of her 29) Julie London albums. And yes I have them all.:)

Coming to think of it Diana Ross & The Supremes released "We Remember Sam Cooke" the same year [[Cooke passed two months after Porter). Now that album I was very much aware of. It was Motown and in 1965 that was pretty much all I was aware of or listened to. Good times. :cool:

Cole Porter wrote beautiful songs.

Cool, elegant classics, with lyrics which sometimes could be interpreted in more ways than just one.

One of my Cole Porter favourites is 'Night And Day'....which Julie London did record, but apparently it rarely, if ever, appeared on her albums [[?).......

"Night And Day" is also a favorite of mine - especially as sung by Eartha Kitt. I would love to hear Julie's version but it is not on anything I own and apparently has made only one appearance [[see link). If anybody out there has it, hook me up!:)
