David Murray Infinity Quartet Featuring Macy Gray
The David Murray Infinity Quartet featuring Macy Grey brought much need HEAT to rain weary Vancouver, Canada at the Vogue Theatre, Thursday, June 27th. David Murray tore into his tenor saxophone before introducing Macy performing "Be My Monster Love" from his new CD of the same name. Macy performed some of her huge R&B hits with sparkling new jazz arrangements and stunned the audience with the classic Billie Holiday associated, "In My Solitude," making it her own. Murray is a jazz giant in waiting and Gray proved she can sing any gender of music. A musical feast, not for the faint of heart to be sure!
