Hey snakepit, honestly, I think people when they say 'radio' mean the thing you turn on in the car or in the kitchen and leave on in the background. Your show is fantastic and plays great, rare stuff but of course it is not the conventional 'radio' that people just 'stick on'.
Marv is right when he says you actually have to take time to seek your show out and listen to it. You can't just 'stick it on' I guess. Just my thoughts. :)

I remember the Temptations' singles during the late nineties. When I first heard "Stay", from the sampling of their own "My Girl", the Temptations-styled harmonies, to Ron Tyson's Temptations-classed falsetto, I guessedly joked "Temptations?", before the contemporary soul station did say "Temptations", then my eyes bulged.
While "Stay" still continues to maintain regular enough rotation to some contemporary soul stations even today, as well as it being included in Temptations Collections as its "They're Still Around" representative, then it was followed up with "This Is My Promise". I forgot if it was led by Theo Peoples or Terry Weeks, but I absolutely fell in love with its toasting serenade, and pure class of appreciation towards the lady in which the subject of serenading.
"Stay" stayed continuing in rotation, but "This Is My Promise" for the most part, remained in 1998/1999.

I enjoyed listening to that again. , barely a radio hit or chart performer [[ #47 pop, #93 soul), so you had to be a clubber back then to really know of the song . But if you were , you knew it inside and out .... it was huge in the discos and topped that chart @#1. [[Shame on Motown to let this one get away)
If you bought the commercial 12" you got as the flip Jermaine' LETS BE YOUNG TONIGHT.
If you were lucky enough to get the promo 12" , Motown provided you with this song [[#90 soul):

in fact any minute I expect Philippe Wynne to join in !
ps Marv I think Eddie's INTIMATE FRIENDS was his last hurrah for Motown. I liked listening to that . Eddie had great pacing , not afraid to sing a tune for as long as the tune takes.
