I wish I could say today's activity is unbelievable, but in fact we have been seeing buildups to this for 4 years. Sadly much of the world has been rejecting liberal democracy [[not Liberal Democrats - those who don't know the difference, look it up) and embracing autocracy. djt [[doesn't deserve even upper-case letters), who has never had any interest in history, the place of America in the world, or anything other than himself, is obviously delusional [[probably always has been) and instead of ending what he called 'American carnage' has inflamed American's descent into a banana republic. It makes me think back to 1968 when Tommy Smith and John Carlos raised their arms in protest. They were stripped of their Olympic medals and sent home to be shamed and intimidated by their communities and the press. We're 52 years beyond that moment and the same stuff they protested is still occurring. If nothing, we've gone backwards.

Yeah, splanky, that's what bothers me when I hear that Biden and the Dems have to "reach out" to people who would literally kill them. Hearing the news constantly talking about appeasing the 74 million losers who voted for him instead of paying more attention to the 81 million who voted to defeat him. They didn't talk any of that smack in 2016 when five million more people voted for Clinton, did they? They took joy in telling people to stop crying and move along. But now, more attention is being focused on second place.
I'll bet we see the first visits to Trump Country next week and that we'll never see the media visit Biden Country in his entire term in office.

Ralph and I completed our set of Pfizer vaccinations in February with no ill effects. We were able to get the shots while sitting in our car at a nearby fire station. It took awhile
to get an appointment.
Nevertheless, we are still mitigating. We still wear masks and keep distances. Not
that much is known of the new variants.
I feel when you get vaccinated, you are doing it for humanity.

It's been hard to make an appointment here. I tried for a couple of weeks before I was able to book an appointment for this Thursday. Fortunately, I'm the last of my parents' kids to get it and I'd argue I'm the one whose most diligent to stay safe. I'll be glad just to be able to sit with Mom without a mask again.
