Made or makes-or maybe both?

I've read that the correct title of the dinah washington classic is[what a difference a day made]but on the cover it reads[a day makes]anyone else have a comment on this?

There has been controversy about this for years. It was originally written in Spanish by Maria Grever. The first English version was by Jimmie Ague in 1934 as "...Made." The liner notes to Dinah's album state that Dinah "goofed" and said "...makes" a few times, but they kept it.
