I bought my first album after I got my license and first job in 1978. Some of the songs I post here and in other threads were recorded since then but probably 70% of the music I reference was heard on Mom and Dad's console in the '60s/'70s or on oldies radio.

A certain sad mood in music can be just fine, a melancholy tone too, should the occasion call for it..
But if you are not feeling depressed at the opening of some of those slow, mournful classical pieces which can seem never-ending, there's a risk of being so by the time the finale is reached. And then you're expected to applaud after being made sad....:rolleyes:
Each to their own, of course - but, for me, Happy People produce Happy Music, for other Happy People.
