If you stay still and look intently up to the sky for long enough, people will flock to your side and follow your upward gaze....
-
So what are we doing here? Counting sheep?? BAAAD
-
1-2-3-4-5-6-7....zzzzzzz!
-
-
Please sleep my friends until I can get my computer fixed!!
-
I'm waiting on standby for you...
-
I'll have you on 'anticipated' - a new facility, as a direct contrast to 'ignore'....
-
A backup laptop that I hardly use has been pushed into service until main one is fixed.
-
You're doing well. Can't see any difference from this end.
-
Or this one, either!! So, back in business!!!!!
-
We await word from you. Even if it is only one word, at a time....
-
Will hopefully get it fixed in a few days. Driving me crazy!
-
You're like me. We can carry on with messages on other computers, but it's just the hassle of an enforced, unplanned change which is annoying.
-
Quite right, westgrand!! Let's hope today it'll be fixed.
-
And, on the subject of change, yesterday we heard that our neighbouring two properties are finally to be demolished, and a block of flats will be built.....
-
How does that make you feel?
-
Initially, the demolition and the rebuild will be irksome. However, it will be taking place on the two plots which are in view of the front of the house. As we live in the back, the major inconvenience will not so much be noise during daytime, but likely be in entering and leaving the narrow Close, having to negotiate around lorries and trucks.
There is a line of trees there which screen the current properties. These are on the far side of the boundary line, so they could be partially or completely removed by the developers. We live in a preservation area, and many of the trees have a 'tree preservation order' on them [[have to be replaced if removed for whatever reason), but I suspect these may not. I hope something green remains there. When entering and leaving the building, looking up at 'taller' buildings [[2 or 3 storeys plus ground floor, with an underground car park) we will need time to become accustomed.
Where there are currently two properties there with, say, two vehicles each, there will then be 14 flats/apartments, which will have the potential of increasing traffic flow by seven times, to this far end.
That said, the two properties at the entrance of the Close were redeveloped into a block of 14 flats in the last ten years. It took some time to get them sold. Although I am told they are little boxes, the exterior is quite attractive, and nestles into a corner.
Is it becoming crowded where you are, or was it always so?
-
No, we live on a road which some consider "in the country." There's a farm down the road which the late owner donated to the township for self-sustaining purposes [[and so far it is doing quite well). More later
-
A farm down the road? Already sounds very good to me....
-
Yes, the owner was apparently a cantankerous sort and he was in his 90's when he passed. He didn't want to sell his land to developers, s he left it to the township. There's a couple with children who live there. Free range chickens, fresh produce are some of which they sell. So far everyone have responded quite favorably!
-
It sounds like the sort of place where you're not afraid to breathe in.
-
-
-
Small area, people support high school football [[American) team. No rubber hotcakes or the Monroe brothers!
-
-
As real as we can get here.
-
An alternative reality in our mind is often more attractive.....
-
Sometimes.............but "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing."
-
I'm partial to 'real enhanced', as in looking on the bright side, etc. 'Real' can sometimes be plain dreary...!
-
-
Oh yes. As in 'grim reality'.....
-
I thought it was "grim reaper".
-
'Reality' first, while you're repeatedly breathing, then 'Reaper', when you're not....:)
-
I thought it was a grim fairy tale.
-
-
-
I may, but not just because you told me sew....
-
-
Far from grim. Actually, one of my favourites by The Pointers.....:)
