Maybe the Copa sold less well; I think so; it's definitely not that high on my buy list.
But I'll get David Ruffin, Symphony and Copa together now..........the 2000 scared me into it.

What show? The NIGHTFLIGHT show? I thought the IHAS episode wasn't going to be on until 10/9?Quote:
It sure would be nice to geta tracklist of this set before the show tomorrow night...
This new release looks amazing! Thanks again to George and Andy for all their hard work and keep 'em coming!
As for sales, I remember discussions on this very board as to how well AT THE COPA was doing on the AMAZON charts...
i think this is a real slap in the face to us UK fans who have been loyal supporters for decades and kept the Motown sound and stars alive long after other areas lose interest.
2,000 copies??? So the only way I can be sure NOT to miss this is to order through Amazon as HipO don't deal with the UK [[another slap)..and the price on Amazon at present for the UK is £42!!!!!
£42 for 2 cd's- are you having a laugh??
£20-£25 would be more reasonable.
I am truly grateful that we are getting these releases but i think we're being screwed over there's a recession on!!
So do i take the gamble and wait, and maybe not get a copy or be 'blackmailed' by the ltd edition,my fear of not getting a copy and shell out £42.
Your take Harry & George on why us loyal UK fans seem to be exploted and treated as second class as to obtaining these releases???
Where is everyone making their purchase? Hip-O? Amazon? Other?
Whoever has it cheaper.
Yes, this particular concert was part of the Motown Mondays series. Diana even promotes the Temptations for the following week. Such an exciting time... It really felt like a family affair. Could something like this ever happen today?
I wish I understood the distribution situation. We are MORE than aware of how supportive fans in the UK and all over the world have been. Believe me, if there was anything anyone on the creative end of these releases could do, we'd be doing it. I think everyone knows we work on these projects for the love of the music, the artists and the people out there that still care. But when it comes to the business end of it all, we're in the same boat as the fans.
George - Who was the opening act for the Supreme's that night and who opened for the Temptations?
I don't have the Temptations info but Earl Van Dyke and then Willie Tyler and Lester opened for the Supremes.
Glad everyone is excited about Symphony! The date of our Nightflight show is changing. John Perrone will make an announcement on air tonight. Details to follow.
I believe Hip-O has exclusive rights to their releases for a couple weeks or so before they go to Amazon, etc. - and rightfully so, they take the trouble and time to put out such wonderful releases and they should reap the rewards...
The Nightflight show with George and Andy has moved up a week to Oct 2nd...
Thanks for the heads up! Can't wait for the show...
For the first time I have to question Hip-o's tactics. 2000 copies to drive people to Hip-o in fear of not getting one and no one knows why this many were produced? Why distribute any to other retailers? Someone knows why. Something in the pond smells fishy.
I don't understand what all the speculation is. They produced the amount that they think they can sell.
I'm glad they included the live show. Seems like it was a good show with a mix of the hits and standards. This seems to be more of a real concert.
Here is the write-up about the expanded edition from The Second Disc blog -

lookn 4ward 2 this cd as well, just ordered mine. now if only BABY ITS ME was coming but i suppose we will see this cd soon after the first of the year? maybe. thanks Andy,George,Harry.
the COPA cd is amazing.totally done with class,as usual
I recieved a response from Amazon catalog department that they reviewed my correction and have changed "I Heard.." to "I Hear A Symphony"..whew...took long enough...lol
Did anyone get shipping confirmation for Hip-O Select yet since they list today as the ship date?
I haven't gotten confirmation on shipping yet, but they did charge my account two days ago, so my fingers are crossed that its here early next week.
I'm confused about the Roostertail Show [[although I'm really looking forward to it) I always thought this was the show where Flo had a sore throat or whatever and said she couldn't sing "People" and therefore the "Symphony" medley was added in place of it.
Looking forward to this exciting release. Just wonder whether the live recordings of I Hear A Symphony and You Can't Hry Love are the same as the ones released on the "An Evening With The Supremes" bonus disc of The Supremes box set, as they seem to be from the same show and the same year. Great to hear to entire Roostertail Show though...
Motown recorded both of the Supremes shows that night. We deliberately chose the performance of "You Can't Hurry Love" that wasn't included on the bonus box set disc. Of course they are similar since they were recorded hours apart but Diana's introduction is different. It's also not the same "I Hear A Symphony". The version on the box set is from The Copa 1967.
Thanks again for the information George :D
Many times I got the just shipped email from HipO after I received the product
Thanks George for that information... exciting to have an alternate live version of You Can't Hurry Love...
The line up from show one to show two varied slightly so we made sure to include EVERY song they sang in both shows.
We're so lucky to have real Supremes fans putting these collections together...thanks for all your loving care and keep up the great work!
My apologies for the delay: just wanted to thank Harry and Andy and George and the rest of the "gang" for another 'supreme' release.
I finally placed my order this morning; can't want to visit all of the gems this has to offer.
This will probably be mentioned in MJ's "Nighflight" interview, but am curious: who from the "inside" was interviewed for the packaging on "IHAS"? I would assume Mary, since she's always lent her expertice, but anyone else?
Also: I think Andy [[?) or George [[?) mentioned that Mary and Diana typically receive "advance" copies of these expanded editions: do Flo's daughters as well? How about other Supremes, like Scherrie and Susaye?
