Aretha played On The Radio, I learned Something: PIECE OF MY HEART

Yesterday was an Aretha day on the radio . First Mark Levin's producer used an Aretha song SAY A LITTLE PRAYER as bumper music and Mark had him play it all the way through as he sort of chimed in along the way as he occasionally does if he likes something.

Then soon after our local station was playing an old King Harris [60's music guru ] segment as they now do since he passed away and he revealed this:

Janis Joplin's PIECE OF MY HEART was first recorded by Aretha's sister Erma Franklin

No doubt this is commonly known by many, but I've lived several decades and just hearing this for the first time so thought I'd share...

This was Erma's one big hit reaching#10 soul but it failed to reach the Top 40, peaking at #62.
