i liked that one too! and found it interesting that Come Together sort of mirrors the version in terms of production and approach to the EIE one. at least somewhat. Wonder when Deke was toying with the idea of DR Sings The Beatles and if that concept influenced this medleyQuote:

True, one can make the argument that Lady Sings the Blues was a "backward move" musically, recording songs from the 30s-50's. But as it was a soundtrack album for a movie that she starred in, it announced that Diana was more than just a pop singer, but a true multi-talented superstar--singer, actress, performer. And thus worthy of being a solo superstar.
I think DR covered the British Sound enough on the A Little Bit of Liverpool album. The British sound never moved me like the Motown Sound did. Plus the Beatles had just broken up the month before in April. So we know of at least live shows from early in DR's solo career that I'm sure her fans would love to hear, 52 years later.Quote:
