Billboard's Hot 100/ Top 40 Motown Chronicles -- 1975 --- [Pt. 2]
The first three months of 1975 have not been stellar for the Motown family of labels. While releases have been consistent enough to keep the company charting at around a half dozen 45s per week on the Hot 100, most have faltered below the Top 40 and only one artist, Stevie Wonder, has managed a Top 10 record with BOOGIE ON REGGAE WOMAN, which peaked at #3 [#1 Soul for two weeks].
Biggest surprise is the label's #1 ranking record on the country chart: T.G. Sheppard's DEVIL IN THE BOTTLE on their Melodyland subsidiary.
