I think we need more info. Give a hint.

Otis Redding or Sam Cooke perhaps is part of this...
![]() ![]() |
And I was thinking maybe Little Richard and
James Brown...Or is it Jerry Lee Lewis and
Chuck Berry...

WONDER WHO,YOU GOT IT,THE STORY GOES THAT LITTLE RICHARD WAS TEARING UP THE STAGE SHOUTING AS ONLY HE CAN AND PLAYING THE PIANO WITH HIS FEET,SO JB HAD TO ACT FAST,THERE WAS A RAILING THAT RAN OUT ABOVE THE STAGE OVER THE CROWD,SO JB BEING THE ATHLETE THAT HE WAS THEN LEAPED OFF OF THE STAGE AS IF HE WERE GOING INTO THE CROWD,THEN CAUGHT THE RAILING AT THE LAST MINUTE AND SWUNG AROUND AND LANDED BACK ON STAGE,AFTER THAT LITTLE RICHARD WOULDN'T DO ANY SHOWS WITH HIM.FROM THE [GODFATHER OF SOUL]

Try this one: Maybe this is too easy, but here
goes...What famous singer of the 70s/80s lived
across the street from Dee Dee Sharp in the
early 60s and one afternoon he saw Dick Clark
bring her home and decided then that he wanted
to be a singer too?

Was it Chubby Checker?

Chubby Checker was recording and a big star before Dee Dee Sharp recorded "Slow Twistin" with him and her own first record & Hit "Mashed Potato Time".Sadly, although still an International Star he had no hits in the 70's or 80's. I was thinking maybe Luther Vandross but I don't think he is from Philly.

Hint: He was first in a famous group before going
solo. Obiviously, since he lived across the
street from DD Sharp, he is from Philadelphia.

WAS IT TEDDY P ?
![]() ![]() |
Yes, it WAS Teddy Pendergrass! He was about 12
when he saw Dick Clark bring DeeDee home, who
was all of 16. He actually put this story in
his autobiography a few years back.
