In another thread you spoke about protest songs. How about songs that fit the mood of the tragic things going on in the Mid East. I'll start with one I feel to be one of the ultimates of ALL songs EVER!

Another Soldier Gone - Violinaires

He'll Be Back - The Players
Even though the song pertained to the Vietnam War, it's message of looking forward to a soldier's return strikes me as sad.

Windows Of The World - Isaac Hayes
I mentioned this in another thread. I enjoy Dionne's original but Isaac's live version from 1972 (done "Hot Buttered Soul"-style) captures the mood of the song's message and sends it home.

Save The Children - Marvin Gaye
Need I say more?

Kevin Goins - KevGo

Greetings (This is Uncle Sam) - Monitors - sure there is no draft, but I hear about soldiers dying who are MY age, and this song kind of elucidates that point for me. This young boy, going off to boot camp and into the war zone...

Love Makes The World Go Round - Deon Jackson - I stopped believing this when I became a grown-up, but maybe if we believed this to be true, the world could be different.
