We cant forget the all-time favorite, "I'm The Barber Of Seville". Alfalfa greatest hits. vol 1,LOL!!

Henry Fambrough..wow. He had a very unique and cool voice. He kinda reminded my of Airron Love from the Stylistics. "Just as long.." is one of their most under rated ballads. But "Smile, We Have Each Other" is a tear jerker too, that was when I was introduced the power of the Sigma Strings. The harps are beautiful on that song.

Mr. Eli, being a die hard Philly fan and a Soul fan. It is a honor to have you on the website as well as the other jaw dropping names I've seen on this forum. I have a few questions:

How is Earl Young? King of the crashing symbols and the Tom Tom, its intersting that he was inspired by Al Green records because I was listening to Albert King's "Crosscut" the other day and I was like damn..Al Jackson (another great one!! and he's in the top 4) was laying on the Tom Tom a lot. Then I read two weeks later in a post you wrote that he was doing an Al Green thing (being that Al Jackson was his drummer along with "Bulldog") which made perfect sense. You were mentioning the "Could Be Im Falling In Love" session (my mouth was wide open when I was reading that!!) Earl is in the top 3 of my favorite drummers The others are the late great Mr. Pistol Allen and Mr. Jabbo Starks.

The song that really sticks out on a Tom Tom groove is a song you guys did with William Devaughn called "Give The Little Man A Great Big Hand". If I was the A&R at Roxbury I would have chosen that as a follow up single. Thats my jam. Thats a great album too that is an time favorite of mine.

Describe the atmosphere when recording "Love Is The Message" and "Runaway"?

What was it like working with the Mighty Tom Moulton?

Was "Free Man" or "Ten Percent" the first 12 inch?

PS: Mr. Eli I also noticed a post you did on Byron Lee!! I am a big fan of Ragga/Ska and Jamiacan music and a lot of those groups are really great like The Soul Busters, Eric Donaldson, Early Wailers material.

I have a lot of music from the Trojan label covering Motowns songs and there are amazing!! Its like its a gritty unfilterd vibe with their renditions, truly amazing.

Talking of Byron Lee, I watched Doctor No, on DVD a couple of weeks ago and even though I have seen the movie many times, was shocked to see Byron performing with his band in the movie. Sly fan - Dr. No, the first James Bond movie, was an unlikely place to find Byron Lee playing with his band. I never really became aware of him until 1971 and it was only this year I realised the connection, and that he was in the movie. I would think the same footage was in all the releases of the film, as it is a critical part of the movie at one point around a table with a photographer, who I believe was Miss Jamaica, 1962(?). The song he played was called 'Jamaican jump up'! Hope you find it!

The photographer in Dr No was Margaret LeWars, who was, if I am not mistaken, a previous Miss Jamaica who worked at the airport and was spotted by the production crew and asked if she was interested in being in the film. I was led to believe 1962, but she could have just been one of the entries that year or previously. I am a little out of my depth with this, so maybe I should keep my mouth shut and you will not see the gap in my teeth!
