Does anyone know the addresses for the following which were based in NYC?
Red Bird Records
Atlantic Recording Studios mid 60's
Decca Recording Studios mid 60's
Criteria Recording Studios
Also what lies on the east side of Manhattan? There seems to have been very little music activity there.
TIA
David

Criteria was in Miami

1841 Broadway was an office block which housed
Atlantic's offices and their studio.
Not sure about Red Bird - possibly the Brill
Building

Musicor Records had an office over on West 54th Street in Manhattan, across the street from Scepter Records. Their studios was in the same building. The location is in the same block Studio 54 is in.
The label was founded by music publisher/manager Aaron Schroeder, who later sold it to Art Talmadge (I believe Talmadge lives in Long Island, NY).

American - do you mean Chips Moman's studio ?
- that was in Memphis.
A1 - I don't have an address for it but I think
that was Herb Abramson' studio. He was one of the
original partners in Atlantic - he was drafted
around '53 and went to Germany with the army as
a dentist - when he returned to New York his place had been taken by Jerry Wexler.

Hi Kev
The only two West 54th street addresses I have are Scepter at number 254 and Bell Sound at number 237.
Is there any chance Musicor were in 237?

David, if you're still interested in American Group Productions, they were at 827 Thomas Street in Memphis (I believe it has since disappeared under a car lot - typical!). The band (Reggie Young, Tommy Cogbill, Bobbys Wood & Emmons, Gene Chrisman and Mike Leach) was known as the 827 Thomas St.Band.
