JJ Jackson...try his intro of "Om Ma Lidi" on Prelude for a start. Also "Waklin On The Edge Of The Sea" is quite unique with it`sship horns and bird sounds.

"Splish Splash" Bobby Darrin and
"Monster Mash"-Bobby Borris Pickitt,
the bubbles in the start of each sounds like the same effects. If you stop the record after the bubbles, you wouldn't know which record was which.
The end of the "Banana Boat Song" by Stan Freeberg, the sound of a window breaking and feet landing on the floor as he says,
"i come thru the window"

So Strange by the Five Dollars
The Wind by the Diablos
Both of these songs have odd (but cool) beginnings. Is it a fortune thing?

I'd have to listen to the 45 again to confirm it, but I think "Human Jungle" by the Fugitives (Northern soul tune on Roulette, for those unfamiliar with the tune) has jungle noises at the beginning.
Best,
Mark

How about the opening to Spooners Crowd (the Fame studio band in actual fact) Chess outing "2 in the Morning".
Opens with the sound of a guys footsteps, quiet music, knock on door, door opens, music volume jumps up. Always impressed me ever since I first got the track on a mid 60's cheapo UK comp LP.
In the late 70's this became a big UK (NS) alllniter track thanks to plays at London's 100 Club.

"Spooners crowd" is a great tune.

Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "Constipation Blues" where he grunts throughout the song. You can pretty much figure out why.

John,
Thank You Sir. I wasn't quite sure if many people knew that version. I would love to know the background relating to how/why they came up with that intro.
