It's amazing really that a record shop can be so important to people, but it really is a serious part of the process which is the record industry.
I certainly look back with pleasure at the record stores which furnished me/helped me hear the newly released Soul Sounds.
I first became aware of White's through Yellow Pages.
During visits to the city I began to hear of the love for the owners and the legend which is the shop itself.
It was therefore magical to find the building still in position with it's wonderful signage.

I remember hearing that she resided in Windsor, Ontario. Can anyone confirm this. I believe a son died under tragic circumstances. Whenever I came into the store she would greet me with a warm look. She would let me go into the basement to look at records. She reminded one of Moms Mabley.
