WONDERING WHAT SHE UP TO THESE DAYS. I WANT TO KNOW IF SHE STILL IN SHOW BUSINESS.

I think she retired - in the last interview I saw
with her (early eighties)she was tired of getting
good reviews and no sales. A pity - the last
I heard of her was when she was on Cotillion being
produced by Johnny Bristol - excellent stuff.

I played bass behind Margie for a few nights at the 20 Grand as a sub in the house band (Pistol was also in the band). She was a real class act, but I never heard much about her after that.

WELL I THINK IT'S A SHAME THAT HER TALENTS ARE
NOT INTACT TODAY. SHE IS TRULY A TALENTED
ENTERTAINER.

I purchased one LP by Margie Joseph. It is still in good shape. On the LP is the song "My Love" which is why I bought the LP. The girl could sing.

I have a couple of 45s by her, her versions of "What You Gonna Do" (the Bobby Womack song) and "Born to Wander" (the Rare Earth song). Both are fantastic!
Best,
Mark

One of Margie's best outputs was the stunning "I Can't Move No Mountains." The Lamont Dozier produced LP was also great. It's a shame she is so underrated.

Her work on the "Live" LP with Blue Magic and Major Harris is also outstanding !

Hi Mark,
I didn't know Margie had done "Born To Wander"
- I'll have to keep an eye out for that.
There's another version of that song by Maceo
and the Kings' Men on their first album, I
wonder how many other Rare Earth covers there are
out there.

Man, how can I forget that beautiful ballad that Margie did with Blue Magic - "What's Come Over Me". Stunning!!

Hi Davie!
"Born to Wander" is one of her Atlantic singles, with "Let's Go Somewhere and Love" on the flip.
I bought it quite a while ago--forget where--but as irony would have it, there were multiple copies there! It always seems that if you don't buy more than one copy, someone will invariably be looking for one themselves!
Best,
Mark

My favorites are Words (are impossible) & Stay Still. I understand she did a interestingly rendition of the Supremes, "Stop in the name of Love." I would love to hear it.
