gwiz,I Remember Something kind of mellow by Johnny Williams that got played in the 70s on the british N/Rare soul scene and didnt he do a version of the Just a little misunderstanding track? The record you mention by Tim tam &The Turn ons became a collectors piece over here on a u.k. release.(although, personally not my cup of tea). But the Something kind of mellow I thought/think is a good track as is the other mentioned.MEL.

Mel,
The Johnny Williams you're thinking of is a completely different guy - he was from Chicago
and later recorded in Philadelphia in the early
seventies

Many thanks Davie,I am going off the top of my head there. If I knew, then I certainly didnt remember,cheers.MEL.

Hey Everyone!
Dennis Coffey and I will be enjoying the festivites at the CKLW reunion this weekend because I work there, and because the producers of the movie and Charlie O'Brien want him in the documentary and on the radio broadcast! We will be happy to report back to the forum on who was there and "what was what". Does the name Rosalie Trombley mean anything to anybody??

Rosalie Trombley was, if my aged memory is correct, the music director of CKLW in the late '60's and early '70's. It strikes me that Bob Seger did a song about her, involving his attempts to get a single listed on the CK chart.
I know this information is incomplete, but maybe it will spark someone elses memories.

I think "Rosalie" was a tribute; Bob and his manager Punch knew Rosalie well enough that a mere song wouldn't sway her. She rejected it for play on CK. I think she was wrong, it's a great song, especially the chorus ...the lines "everybody's favorite little record girl" and "she's got the tower/she's got the power" ...

Hi Everyone. We did a section of the live broadcast when they were filming the CKLW reunion documentary. It was Rosalie, Millie, Armen Boladian from Westbound Records and me. DJ Charlie O'Brian was the moderator. We had a ball talking on the radio. I also saw my friend Tom Shannon and other DJs there. Mike Theodore and I did the arrangements and conducted the house band for Tom's TV show on CKLW way back when. Pistol Allen, Bob Babbitt and Johnny Griffith were in our band along with three horn players from Windsor.
