Any Angie fans out there? Angela is one of those artist who the older they get, the better they sound. Angela is still burning up stages with that voice 25 years after her debut "Angie" came out. Some of my favorite tracks: YOU SHOULD KNOW BY NOW CAN'T CHANGE MY HEART WE'LL MAKE LOVE LONG GONE CHILDREN OF THE WORLD UNITED I WONDER and the list can go on and on. Any other fans out there? Angela has always been a favorite of mine. I love her "Angie" album and all the cuts on it, especially "Under the Moon...."all the cuts Chi Drummer listed also. Chi, In a really good book named "Jazz Singing" by Will Frewald (great book if you're into jazz singers) she's described in there as being the "singing lampshade". Don't know what he meant by that. I think maybe she was wearing "big hair" at that time or something, he wasn't too crazy about her singing. I disagree, I love her. |

Hi Morgan; Maybe he meant she softens, as a shade softens a harsh light. (?) S.S. |

Morgan, that comment might have been made because Ms. Bofill wasn't always the sharpest dresser on stage. The evidence above notwithstanding she would, at times, wear some rather strange looking stuff. |

Hey there Chi and Soul Sister; Hmmmm....I don't know, I tend to think he meant it in a more derogatory way, the way it was written, I think he was taking a dig at her. Chi, it may have been what she was wearing, as she was performing at some sort of (outdoor) festival in N.Y. in the 80's or early 90's. |

Ms. Bofill has taken her share of digs from a number of people for a few different reasons...but having met her, I found her to be a beautiful, charming, and extraordinarily friendly to the many fans that approached her. She was open and willing to talk about everything...except GRP Records. (LOL) |

Angela appeared at Birdland in NYC last week. Angela has always been very fortunate that she can continuously tour without a hit record. People come out to see her and they are amazed at how wonderful she still sounds. |

I really miss her music and alot of other artists music that we never get to hear their recent CD's on radio, sometimes we may not know if there's any current music in stores? Also where is the smooth jazz stations when we need them most?! I thought they we're into playing Angie's & other vocalist music on their rotation. I get tired of hearing the same old tired a** sound the same instrumentals, now it's called Contemporary Jazz? |
