This is a rare soul 45
cut on the
Alpha record Label
which is a division of Don-El records.
It's called
'my little cottage(by the sea')
and was written by none other than
Robert L.Martin.
A Don-El production
Dew music
arranged and conducted by
Bobby Martin.
I know that Eddie Holman
recorded on the Don-El logo
with his brilliant track 'she's beautiful'
Can anyone tell me anything regards
all the above.
Dont let the name fool ya
Fluffy Falana(who is it?)

Hi Mel,
Fluffy was a sibling of dancer/actress Lola Falana.
Don El was owned by real estate man Donald White.
It was on the same block as V- Tone/Len records in Philly.
His label flourished from about 1960 thru about 1967 or so.
Donald resembled Harry Belafonte somewhat.
He was a super guy and treated everyone fair and square.
Sadly, he passed away several years ago and his son has all of the masters.
There may be a Don El comp coming from Philly Archives.
He had three labels that I know of, Don El, Chestnut and Alpha.
Chestnut was primarily used for country music which Don liked as well as r&b.
Wally Osbourne was his main producer for a while thru which I played on me of my earliest sessions..

What has happened to Lola these days? I know she has "MS" and it seems about 10 years a go she was interviewed and said it had gone into "remission" and she was fully back to complete health and would be performing again. I have not heard nor seen her since and was told she was living with her parents. Anybody know?
