Soul Jones,
I am probably writing now more than ever.
I really enjoy working with up and coming young artists who hwve not been jaded by the biz.
As far as the "veterans" go, I love Yolanda Adams,Bebe and Cece Winans, Donnie Mc Clurkin, Michael Mc Donald,Gladys Knight, Mary J. Blige.
My secret desire is to get the multi-track of Together by The Intruders and put BarbaraMason on as a "duet"

Bobby, 'Together' is a great song, I think it'd work as a duet.
Theres a new group (who appeared on Steve harvey's compilation) called Morrison Slick who I think would benefit from some sweet soul - currently produced by The Soul Coalition on Jam & lewis's label. Have you heard of them?
Talking about vocal harmony groups there was one called 4.0 from a coupla years ago who were right in the Blue magic bag.
Are you working with anybody at the moment?

bobby you were talking bout a blue magic reunion
awhile ago what's the news about that

Hello Bobby:
I would like to ask you how you got artist to change their style to fit the Philly groove you had going on back in the day.
Examples of this would be how Sister Sledge came across with "Cream of The Crop" great composition and they really did hit it on that one, or how about an even more extreme example when you worked with Engelbert Humperdinck back in 1976. I rtemeber playing that at the clubs it was quite a shocker!!
Final question- was that you moaning on Love Chant? lol

Blue Magic work all the time and stil posses the same kind of class as before.
I want to produce them again , preferrably with Ted Mills.
I am talking to the Stylistics right now and we are trying to find time to hook up and "brainstorm"

Sorry mate, last question. Do you know Ann Gore & Mckinley Horton? They're a song writing team that owe more than a nod to you & vinnie barrett (they wrote 'It's A Shame' & 'What Would This World Be' for Solo) a talented songwriting team.

SoulJones,
You realy have an ecclectic collection .
As far as me "fitting" the Philly sound to the afforementioned artists,Sister Sledge are from Philly so it was a natural for them.
I am glad that you like COTC as it was one of my faves but politics at Atlantic prevented it from being the hit that it deserved to be.
Englebert in the CLUBS???? Wow, if only I could have been a fly on the wall!
Which song did you spin???
Enge was a total joy to produce and the Consumate Professional Artiste!!!
That experience was one of the highlights of my professional life.
The "moaners" on Love Chant were Ron Kersey and Barbara Ingram, who was a "professional moaner" by then!!!
Incidentally, when I went to Miami to discuss my ESC project with TK records , a beach singer with a guitar singing Release Me, inspired me to search out Enge for that project.
I had already known him for several years by then and the rest is.....

I know Mc Kinley very well and Ann not so very well although we have met on occasion.
Mc Kinley(Mickey) is a talented brother.

Bobby - looks like the cat is out the bag with Elton John and his 'Are you ready for love'. Still trying to record the video over here, off the tele. Last weekend it was played every other song, this weekend - we cannot find it. Seems the Thom Bell sessions are the talk of the Elton John forums!

Mr Eli happy to hear that you are talking with the Stylistics hope it works out Eban Brown is a great singer and nice guy. Have you listen to the new Delfonics Cd yet.Skip

Bobby,
Can you remember working on the First Choice cuts "I'll Be Right Here" & "Yes, Maybe No" (released on their WB LP).
The sleeve notes say you arranged these tracks.
Are there any other versions of the Dean / Glover tune "I'll Be Right Here" which is a gudun.

I have a question for Bobby Eli as well: Since Epic/Legacy is releasing remastered philly albums now and then, are there more albums coming that you are aware of? I really would like to see "To be true" by Harold Melvin & the blue note, "Family reunion" by the Ojays etc.
Thanks
