There was a report on CNM this morning that a battle for Barry White's estate has already started. The fight is between first wife Mary (who he has four children by), Glodean (divorced), and a girlfriend of a few years who just had a baby supposedly by Barry White. Glodean has asked for a paternity test for the new child. This looks like it could get pretty messy.

Let's hope these FLOB's (Former Ladies Of Barry's) will come to an understanding soon - this is probably the last thing Barry would've wanted.
I also suggest reading Barry's autobiography "Love Unlimited" - Barry gained custody of his children by his first wife because she neglected them (so she would be smart to back off if she is making trouble). As for his relationship with Glodean, according to his book (and Glodean's interview on VH-1'S "Behind The Music" three years ago)they remained friends after they divorced in 1988.

Stephanie: Just wondering...but why would you want Glodean to get *everything* ? After all...they were divorced. The fact that they remained friends isn't that relevant a factor. If there were no will, I'd expect all former wives & lovers to be "S.O.L." and that the estate be divided equally among the children. (Maybe my H.O. is a guy thing....yanno ?)

WRT kidney donation...it may have been a situation like my man Walter Payton's. The public knew he needed a transplant like yesterday....but what went unsaid was that (toward the end) his condition was worse than publicized and the transplant would not have done any good. Or like baseball star Rod Carew's daughter. Due to he unique ethnic makeup of his daughter, no bone marrow donor was ever located...despite a massive (national) awareness campaign and more individuals added to the registry than ever before,

You know what is so messed up? I saw Barry on A Baby Story last Tuesday or Wednesday. One of his daughters was featured on there and she was sitting in his backyard talking to him about the upcoming birth of her 3rd child. She was going to have a C-section the next day. Barry was saying how he couldn't wait to see his new grandchild and that he loved all of his grandkids. They showed Glodean at the hospital and later at home with the new baby. They never showed Barry after the baby was born. I was thinking after the show went off "I wonder how Barry is doing now?" It was so shocking to hear that he passed just a few days after seeing that show. What I want to know is this: he had 8 children, did any of them get tested to see if they could donate their kidney? It just seemed to me that someone in the family should have been a match. I was told that there was a multitude of people that wanted to donate to him but were told that they couldn't specify who the kidney went to. It would go to the first person on the list of recipients. I am going to become a donor, my daughter is on the list for a kidney and I am not a match but I could help someone else. I would like to ask that some of you think about being a donor. You don't know what families go through with these illnessess.We are going to miss Barry. I was on my way to the hotel to check in before Smokey's show and they announced it on the radio. Smokey said some really nice things about him and called for a moment of silence.

Hi all. I was just surfing the web to find out any new information on arrangements for a funeral service. I am so devastated about Barry's passing away. Every song I hear brings back some memory of my childhood, or about some period in my life. It wasn't that I was his number one fan, but I REALLY LOVED the MUSIC....not the words so much, but the MUSIC. He was a musical GENIOUS. I could listen to his music over and over, all day long. And that VOICE.....it was fabulous, there hasn't been another like it. My heart burns for the family...It's going to be Sooo hard to hear him on the radio, sounding like he's still here, and knowing he's not. I would love to know more about Glodean also. She DID have SOME VOICE! Wish I could see a picture of her and what she looks like now. She was a beautiful woman.

You sound jealous of this Catherine. Why so personal, or are you a racist? Any and all prior relationships, (OTHER than the man's children), have no right to claim anything. IF, and I say if that were the case, then his first wife who supported him when he had nothing would have more claim than his second, who shouldn't have any claim. Are you a relative of Glodean's or a groupie on the side or what? You do sound very insecure and angrily out of place. All Capricorns are dumb, whats up with that? From what I have witnessed all the parties in these cases, (OTHER than the present relationship who has cared for their man thru his sick & worst times) are all greedy vultures!
Can I get a witness. My suggestion to you is drop the hate and generalizations rdiaspora, leave everything in God's hands, whatever happens, happens for a reason. I beleive all our lives are planned out before we are born so whatever or whoever is in our lives is because it was meant to be.
I usually don't get involved in these type of discussions, but its not right for anyone to comment on another's "personal life", when you haven't walked in their shoes or lived it.
