The living Bells....I really wish that lp/cd that was promised would be released to the public. I can only imagine how many songs that trio recorded that have never made it to the stores. They like the ANDANTES must be the most under appreciated trio of gifted singers in pop/soul music . I have the METROPOLIS lp from the late 70s and the Salsoul stuff but truly I need more. I also recorded the Patti Labelle shows at the Gershwin and also at the Beacon (I think). I can't remember! anyway....The gals could be heard very present on my shotty stanky little recording that I bootlegged .Much to my surprise they held up fairly well on cassette all these years later. Then I had the unfortunate airheadedness to leave one of the treasured irreplaceable tapes in an avis rent a car....oy vay...never to be seen or heard again....is that justice or what? you get what you pay for ladies! ANYWAY I'd love me some new SWEETIES! |

Just lovely ! thank you for photos!God Bless the beautiful sweetheart"BARBARA INGRAM".....I recall she missed a couple of Patti's shows in NYC in the 80s ....next thing I knew she had passed. Was that the beginning of the end for the lovely songbird, pray tell? You don't know how I treasure their backing vocals on some sometimes lackluster productions. Talk about versatile and breathing as one. Claudja Barry, Grace Jones, PULSTAR....on and on....they made those tracks!...and Salsoul of course...Carla was doing solo concerts in A.C. I recall. now I wish I had gone. Somehow A.C. disappoints me and breaks me so I do my best to avoid it. Unless Niecy's there!....there I go again ..can't stick to the subject at hand.my mouth runneth over....so I'm taking a break. a tad much guys I know....later babes! |

Damn, I wish that they were still doing their thing! I can still hear Love Won't Let Me Wait, running around in my head. No, The Lettermen never did it like this! (Message edited by Juicefree20 on May 08, 2004) |

Hello, again Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose! Very charismatic picks, Mr. Electronic! Until now i only have see one photo of these prolific girls, in the interior of the sleeve in "Here To Create Music" (by L. Huff). I'm agree with you LaBrenda (without Tabulations, smile!). This girls are the versatility in person. Are soulful, Disco and jazzy. The lead vocals of Carla Benson in MFSB's "Tell Me Why" is very jazzy. Also all these sexy background vocals in Salsoul Orch. as in "Chicago Bus Stop" or "Nice'N'Nasty"... And appears in the credits everywhere, from Stanley Turrentine to Brenda Mitchel. Sadly, I believe, only have one album in his own as "The Sweet Hearts Of Sigma" on Salsoul (another hard-to-find album of mine!). RIP Barbara Ingram, long live to the sweet voices of these three sweet hearts. Peace & Soul Food |
