it looks like the had 5 releases on the label but
i think i've only heard two of the ten sides.
'how' and 'i got the power' are fabulous tracks.
anyone know the other sides?

6605 - FAMILY / ?
6606 - HOW / I'M GONNA MAKE IT
6701 - BE HAPPY FOR ME / ?
6702 - TOGETHER THAT'S THE ONLY WAY / ONE MORE CHANCE
6704/5 - I GOT THE POWER / TOGETHER....
That's all I could find. Sorry - a bit tied up this evening.

Hi David - didn't I tape "One More Chance" for you? It's great. It was certainly playing in the car last September while we driving around Detroit.

Hi all, just been through my "La Beat" 45s by the
"Masqueraders",quite a strange lable as numbers and
titles go,anyway these are what i have,
I got the power-P6704A
Together thats the only way-P6704B
Be happy for me-P6701A
Be happy for me(inst)-P6701B
One more chance-P6705A
Together thats the only way-P6072A
(strange having different numbers and both A sides)
A family pt1-P6605A
A family pt2-P6605B
Together thats the only way(vocal)-P6701A
Together thats the only way(inst)-P6701B
(this is a strange one as this credits the artists as
"The L.P.T`s"(la beat production team)A side
"The L.P.T`s Orchestra B side
when infact the record is "Be happy for me" vocal
and inst by the "Masqueraders"and shares the same
release number P6701, anyone else on here got this 45 as well, would be nice for some more info on it.).
I also have a 70s lp on ABC by them which they do a cover version of "James Shorter-Modern day woman"
La Beat-LB6604,i beleive they done the backing vocals on this 45 as well.
Cheers

THE MASQUERADERS ALSO DID A TRACK ON SOULTOWN CALLED THATS THE SAME THING BUT THE GROUPS NAME IS MIS-SPELLED. ON LABEL AS THE MASQUADERS, AS FAR AS I KNOW ITS THE SAME GROUP. THE TRACK IS A MID-TEMPO PEARLER. MY MATE HAS A COPY AND WAS OFFERED 1,000 POUNDS FOR IT. BUT IVE BEEN TOLD ITS WORTH AROUND 4,000 GRAND. MY MATES HAD IT FOR A GOOD 15-20YRS,AND MONEY IS IMMATERIAL,AS WE ALL KNOW ITS WHATS IN THE GROOVE-THAT COUNTS.

The flip of "How", called "I'm gonna make it", is also good N.Soul. It is quite a brash and heavyweight sound relying on the booming bass and percussion, and nothing like "How". Strong group harmonies and nice simple guitar break - deserves more spins at soul doos - maybe I'll drop it at Cleethorpes this very weekend?! Label discography at:

-p.s. The other LaBeat tracks are worth picking up but aren't as essential as "How" and "I got the power" IMO.

Whilst we're on about LaBeat, has anyone got any WD copies on the label of any releases from The Masquraders?
