And yes Ralph, I'd love to be in touch with Fred and Robin..I found the email addesss on the thread that Sis mentioned, but the email bounced back...I will kep trying. Vickie

Robin Seymour is living in Los Angeles, and has been for years. He and his daughter Jennifer will be visiting Detroit around the 6th of August, and I will be seeing him. If anyone has any messages for him, just let me know, and I'll deliver them! The name of his television show, which was on CKLW, was called "Swinging Time".

It seems to me that CKLW was a radio station known as "The Big Eight."....the 'Swinging Time' TV show was on CBC (Ch 9). I watched it all the time as a boy. My uncle Bud was on the teen jury.

Channel 9 was CKLW-TV. The network is the CBC. Like it was NBC and WDIV-TV.

To set the record straight, when "Swinging Time" was on CKLW TV, both the tv station and the radio station, CKLW AM, known as the "Big 8" were owned by RKO. They also owned KHJ in Los Angeles, KGO in San Francisco and WRKO in New York. It was in the early 70's when both operations were taken over by the Canadians.

p.s. This is where the phrase "newspaper sure" comes from ...beware of trusting memory unless, like Millie, you worked there ...

"Newspaper Sure"...?

Sue - you've obviously never seen some of our tabloids!

Actually I have seen 'em Ritchie, Page 3 Girls and all, and you're right ... but I didn't say "tabloid-sure" !!

Sue - quite right. I guess you were actually referring to newpapers, not comics ;o)
