This could be totally false.
On another blog, someone said
Fred Parris was performing in Ct.
and he got carried off the stage.

as in the movie

Kenny Hamber lives up in the Hartford area these days and usually performs at this annual event [[singing R&B or gospel tunes).
No doubt he was about when this incident occurred & will be able to tell me more of the details.
Kenny used to sing a lot [[in both Baltimore & the New England areas) with Kitty Lane [[aka Kitty Love) who recorded in the mid 60's for Ru-Jac Records. The pair would duet [[on Marvin & Tammi songs + similar material) on live shows.
Kitty's family were originally from New England and her brother was Lou Peeples, a member of the 5 Satins back in the day.

Hi Edafan,

It did happen. He's completely recovered. It turned out to be heat exhaustion and he was out of the hospital the next day. The incident occured during that hot spell that gripped the East.
