Hi all:

The radio station [[wjrz.com) I do a Sunday Night Show on is doing a "bubblegum weekend" and so, trying to be a team player I will try mix in some of that 70s poppy stuff on tonight's show. But.....I need some help.

In my efforts to keep it cool, I'm wondering if there is such a thing as a bubblegum Motown record? I guess I'd broaden the definition to include sweet songs of puppy love or with a more younger vibe. I'm wondering what "Bubblegum" means to you, and what Motown songs you'd think could also be called pop bubblegum. Off the top of my hy head - here's some that would might fit.

Please call in tonight withh your requests at 1-855-331-8293 7pm-12amEST if you have suggestions. Otherwise, I'm afraid we'll be stuck with The Archies and Brady Bunch all night...eek! Tune into WJRZ.com or on I-Heart radio and lsiten live....please....

TJ, just about everything Motown released on the Jackson 5, Michael and Jermaine Jackson between 1969 and 1974 would qualify as "bubblegum".

"Sugar Daddy" - Jackson 5
"That's How Love Goes" - Jermaine Jackson
"Little Bitty Pretty One" - Michael Jackson

are just a few that have not been mention here yet.

I love those 3 songs, and would hardly put them in the same category as "The Composer" and "The Happening" , let alone "A Little Bit For Sandy" or "Hang On Bill".

It's not Motown... but if you want Bubblegum soul pick most anything by Mac and Katie Kissoon. It fits right in.

I love 'em, too, Robb. I was just going for their good-time, feel-good vibe. Those 3 are all terrific tunes, no doubt about it.
