My high school days and Friday nights at Shirley's impromptu parties. Shirley lived in the tiniest house but we would move the coffee table and end tables and we would have a boss time. LOL

The song was certainly a shift in the stuff they had been doing up to that point. I was a bit too young in 1965, three years old, to understand the impact of the stylistic change, though.
