Thanks for posting, but I would hardly consider half the tracks on here "disco".

I Am Love? Disco? Hardly.

I Am Love? Disco? Hardly.

Quite!!

Maybe they should have put on "Forever Came Today" instead as that is very "Disco". :)

For me, the Eddie Kendricks tracks make this a worthwile release.

Even though "Keep On Truckin'" was recorded on the West Coast and not in The Pit it's smokin'.

To be honest, I'd give the collection a "C+", as I see "sure things" but too many "sure things" [[ Let it Whip, Upside Down, Love Machine, Let's Get Serious, Don't Leave Me this Way, Got To Give It Up, Keep On Truckin', Behind the Groove, Give It To Me Baby) that could be found in many, many, many other common collections, meaning, don't think it'd be worth my whatever-it-costs, for just two or three, one of them a pathetically short "Magic Disco Machine", tracks.

"Keep On Truckin'" is the long version. Now, that's a rarity on CD compilations.

Ditto the full-length "Don't Leave me This Way".

"Keep On Truckin'" FULL - Eddie Kendricks - Ultimate Collection, "Don't Leave Me This Way" - 5:42 - Thelma Houston - Funkology Volume Three: Dance Divas

Not so very long ago [[2005) Universal released a 2-cd set also called "Motown Disco". It also had the full-length versions of "Keep on Truckin'" and "Don't Leave Me This Way", as well as the 12" version of Tata Vega's "Get It Up For Love." Overall, I think it had a better track list. Looks like it's not so easy to find on cd any more, though I'll bet if you're patient you can find a cheap used copy. It's also available as an mp3 download.

The only track I don't already have on this new release is the one from Magic Disco Machine. I'll pass.

slightly off topic, but does anyone else think that Robin Thicke's 'blurred lines' "borrows" heavily from 'Got To Give It Up'?

Yes. A lot of people think so. If you put "Robin Thicke" in the search engine at the top of the page, you'll be able to check out the forum thread.

Presumably this "Full" version of "Keep On Truckin'" is the same as the version that was on Eddie's "Motown Solo Albums, Volume 1" C.D. collection that came out in 2005. It has the same time of 7:59.
