I"m in the middle of writing a blog with the working title of...

"Are you paying to see a classic rock band, or a trademark?"

The premise is that many of the "classic" acts that tour today are not so much the classic lineups, but someone with a trademark, touring under the name they own. WAR, The Beach Boys, The Three Degrees, The Guess Who and The Lovin' Spoonful come right to mind, but there are many others.

I remember reading somewhere [[here?) T J Lubinsky's criteria for allowing a classic act to use the classic name but I don't remember what it is. Does anyone with a better memory than me......that would be most anyone.....remember what that criteria is?
