I cartainly haven't seen these dolls before, just simply beautiful and an uncanny true likeness to the Supreme ladies.

These dolls were created by artist Robert Powley. Several sets were featured in the Mary Wilson magazine "50th Anniversary".

Often Robert has sets for sale; I'm certain several members of SDF have sets; I myself have a green swirl "TCB" set.

They are truly works of art and well worth the purchase price.

Wow...great work on these. I especially like the set of the "stools" cover from Meet the Supremes and the "Greatest Hits" green gown dolls.

Does anyone know how to get a set of these?

I find Powley's work simply overwhelming. Every set of dolls is just fascinating. What he has been able to capture and create is absolutely mesmerizing. Makes me gasp with delight. The work radiates with his brilliance that he brings to each piece and every aspect of it. Truly a constant source of amazement.

Many thanks for this thread and its posts. And for related ones that I've seen in the past, as well. I might never have seen Powley's superlative work without them.

As someone that owns a set, I don't really think "doll" is the right word to describe these pieces of art; they are clay-like, more of a sculpture.

The detail is absolutely amazing. It's very apparent that Robert is very gifted at his craft; each set is truly one-of-a-kind.

I first saw these in Mary Wilson's Fan Club Newsletters in the mid-1990's. Naturally, this was pre-internet, and locating Robert at the time was very difficult. I was a mere child at the time, and owning such a set was a bit out of my financial range.

Luckily, through the magic of facebook, I was able to connect with him a year or so ago, and asked if was still selling. Thankfully he was, and I am now in possession of a green swirl "T.C.B." set.

I've come across many fans that own "Powley Originals"; in fact, there is one fan in particular that has SEVERAL sets.

If anyone is serious, I know from time to time, Robert offers a set on eBay; you could also certainly contact him via Facebook.

I'd have to agree with Mary Brewster...they're not dolls, but, sculptures. I can't remember what I paid, as that was nearly 20 years ago [[mid-90's I believe). Glad to hear Robert is still making these for fans.
