"Love To See You Smile" - Bobby Bland [[1978). Bobby was one of the very few entertainers who could mix blues with disco and make it work.

As you may or may not have noticed, it is the original track of "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted" that went unreleased, in my opinion rightfully so. [[It's good, but I think Jimmy's version is so much better)

This is a REAL blast from the past, but one of my favorite WWII-era songs is the haunting "I'll Never Smile Again," written in 1939 by Canadian Ruth Lowe. Ruth was only 24 when she lost her husband and penned "I'll Never Smile Again" shortly after. The song was passed to Tommy Dorsey and recorded by a young Frankie Sinatra and the Pied Pipers in 1940. The Tommy Dorsey version, which was Sinatra's first big hit, stayed at number one for 12 weeks on Billboard, from July 27 to October 12, 1940, and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1982.

Frankie's version gives me the chills every time I listen to it!
