Has anyone purchased either of these?: The Original Hits set appears to have some interesting mixes of familiar songs.

The Original Hits set, to me, looks like your basic Motown 101. Yes, there are different stereo/mono mixes, but overall, I don't think it's something that most "fans" don't have somewhere in their collection.

Without seeing the musical, I DID, however, pick up the Original Broadway Cast Recording. It's worth every bit of the $10.00 I paid for it on Amazon. Without being too critical, I did find it, overall, a bit "rushed". I don't have the VD in front of me, but I seem to recall reading it was recorded over 2 or 3 days at the end of May. Well, we're just into June, so there wasn't a large turnaround timeframe. I suppose it was to jump on the Tony buzz bandwagon?

I have no doubt anyone that purchases it will enjoy it, for what my opinion is worth.

Thanks for the responses. It seems I can hold off on the cast album until I've seen the musical. I can also skip the original rrecordings disc. Oh yeah, Diana Ross is heading back to the Memphis area in September. She's been here three times in the past three years. She's playing Harrah's Casino. My parents will definitely be going.
