This reminded me of when Evan got hostile because some comedians made jokes about Whitney Houston after her death; he stood up and got angry about it.

Los Angeles [[CNN) -- Paris Jackson, the 15-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson, was rushed to a hospital after cutting one of her wrists early Wednesday morning, sources close to the Jackson family told CNN.

Paris called a suicide counseling hotline early Wednesday, which lead to a counselor calling 911 to the Jackson home in Calabasas, California, those sources said.

"Being a sensitive 15-year-old is difficult no matter who you are," attorney Perry Sanders said Wednesday morning. "It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you. Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention. Please respect her privacy and the family's privacy."

Other Jackson sources stopped short of calling the incident a suicide attempt, although one suggested it might be "a cry for help" from the teenager.

Paris posted messages to her million-plus Twitter followers late Tuesday evening:


"i wonder why tears are salty?"

"yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away

"now it looks as though they're here to stay"

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said its deputies "responded to a medical situation" at an address that matches the Jacksons' Calabasas home at 1:27 a.m. Wednesday. A patient was taken to a hospital, it said.

Paris was recently reunited with her mother, who bowed out of her life when she was an infant. She has been spending time with Debbie Rowe on her horse farm.

Rowe issued a statement through her lawyer Wednesday morning: "We appreciate everyone's thoughts for Paris at this time and their respect for the family's privacy."

Paris, along with her grandmother, Katherine Jackson, and her brothers, Prince and Blanket, are suing AEG Live for liability in Michael Jackson's 2009 drug overdose death.

Paris and Prince are scheduled to testify in the wrongful death trial later this month. Both teens were questioned in depositions for two days each by AEG lawyers in recent months.

Paris made millions cry four years ago when she spoke up at the end of the public memorial service for her father.

"Ever since I was born, daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine," she said, fighting back tears as relatives consoled her. "And I just want to say that I love him so much," she said as she burst into tears and sought refuge in the embrace of family members.

Paris Jackson is "physically fine" after being taken to a hospital early Wednesday, an attorney for her grandmother Katherine Jackson said.


Perry Sanders Jr. wrote in a statement to The Associated Press that the 15-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson is getting appropriate medical attention and the family is seeking privacy.

Sanders declined further comment on Paris' condition or the circumstances that led to her hospitalization. Her biological mother, Debbie Rowe, told "Entertainment Tonight" that Paris was hospitalized after a suicide attempt. People magazine reports that the teen cut her wrists with a kitchen knife and took as many as 20 ibuprofen pills.


Fire and sheriff's officials confirmed they transported someone from a home in Paris' suburban neighborhood in Calabasas, Calif., for a possible overdose but did not release any identifying information or additional details.


Paris frequently posts messages about her life on Twitter, where she has more than a million followers.

A 20-minute video of the teen applying makeup was posted to YouTube last week. Paris says on Twitter she doesn't know how the video, in which she repeatedly asserts, "I am so weird," ended up on the site.


"I hope you guys liked it tho and didn't think i'm too crazy," she wrote. "i get weird when i'm not around people lol."

Michael Jackson kept his children out of the spotlight during his lifetime. After his death from an overdose of the anesthetic propofol in June 2009, the children took on a more public life, beginning with their father's memorial service, which included Paris' tearful goodbye to her father. She has expressed interest in starting a singing career, has plans to star in a movie, and has been featured in different magazines. Her older brother Prince was a guest correspondent earlier this year for "Entertainment Tonight."


In recent months, she has reconnected with Rowe, with whom she has had little contact for most of her life.


The children are listed as plaintiffs in a lawsuit filed by their grandmother against concert giant AEG Live LLC, who she claims is responsible for her son's death. Katherine Jackson's lawsuit claims AEG failed to properly investigate the doctor convicted of causing the singer's death, and pushed the superstar to rehearse and perform a planned series of 50 comeback shows titled "This Is It."


Paris and Prince are listed as potential witnesses in the case, which is in its sixth week of trial.


Katherine Jackson's trial attorney, Brian Panish, declined comment Wednesday morning on Paris Jackson's condition. Her hospitalization came hours after AEG Live's CEO Randy Phillips told a jury that he believed the lawsuit was a shakedown and extortion attempt and that the company should not be held responsible for Michael Jackson's death.


Sanders said outside court Wednesday there is "no basis that there is anything related to potential testimony for anything that was going on in her [[Paris') life."


"Paris is a good strong person, but she's a sensitive person," Sanders said. "It's no secret how incredibly close Paris was with her father."


He said Katherine Jackson is "naturally concerned" about her granddaughter.

Right now there's too many stories about what really happened that it'll make your head spin. I don't know if the meat cleaver story is true. And it's only speculation as to why she did it. All we can do is wish her well and pray she recovers from her depressed state of mind. :[[ Makes me miss MJ all the more...

Way too bad that this story is in the public domain. It looks like Mr Ross is in it for the publicity. Only the doctors and immediate family should decide what aspects are appropriate for the media...

These young guys live on Facebook and Twitter; I think they say way too much but it's the new way.

I think Evan has 140000 followers, probably many of his mothers fans. I don't know if he needs publicity; he's done a lot more movies than his mother. But he likely won't ever by the celebrity that she is.

Evan has many fans judging by comments on urban blogs. He made a big splash with the movie ATL. Many are young girls. It is safe to say that none of them are his mother's fans.
