But, I'm sure that I have at least 3 different singles by that group on small Philadelphia labels, that list the group as Irma and The Fascinations. She also sang with Weldon McDougall's Philadelphia Larks.

There was a song called "You Need Love" that appeared on the Goldmine "Harthon" C.D. which was also credited to IRMA AND THE FASCINATORS.

This listing at northernsouldirect has it as "Fascinations" but that has to be a typo as it is definitely "Fascinators" on my copy of the C.D...

http://www.northernsouldirect.co.uk/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=4&products_id=44

The record uses the same backing music as "Shing-a-Ling" by THE COOPERETTES .. it is on youtube as well ..

Needless to say .. When I looked at the listing I have for my C.D.s I've mis-typed it as "Fascinations" .. being rectified now .. :)

My question is does anyone know anything about Irma, or what her last name was?..

"Irma" was Weldon McDougall's wife, Vivian. I think that "Irma" was her middle name [[if NOT, it was just her stage name).

She sang with The Larks [[Weldon's Philadelphia group) uncredited and as "Irma and The Larks, when she sang lead, The Fascinators [[another Philly group that worked for Weldon-no relation to the Chicago or Detroit or New York or any other group of that name), and The Fascinations [[another name for Weldon's Fascinators). they recorded most of their songs at Virtue Studios.
