Motown greatest hits in the uk

I'VE seen some of the MOTOWN greatest hits albums issued in the UK and other parts of Europe and I noticed many had different covers from their US counterparts. I wonder why this happened and if there were other differences like alternate mixes, etc?

I think the U.K. office at E.M.I./Tamla Motown just wanted to have pictures of the acts on the front of the sleeve Kamasu.

With the sets by the FOUR TOPS and THE SUPREMES there were different track listings .. the U.K. versions both had 16 tracks, the U.S. issues had 12 tracks for the FOUR TOPS and 20 for THE SUPREMES.
