A badly written and researched article. She didn’t make that much from those movies. The writer is projecting the gross revenues the movies earned at the boxoffice and home video sales and giving it all to Janet.

There was this little PR about the Janet album turning 20, which was odd to me because when Control turned 25 or when Rhythm Nation 1814 turned 20, no one brought it up. And she mentioned she was "working on a new album". So yeah I can imagine it was from her PR.

Apparently she told Billboard she was working on a record. But she said that in 2011 too when she was promoting her book. She also said she was gonna continue that small venue tour. I don't know if I believe her. It's not like she's had this track record like Sade, Anita Baker or even Michael in which she could take a break and still produce a No. 1 record.
