Hi everyone - you heard it here first on SD:
Just wanted to share with you that we just wrapped a day of recording with the supreme Mary Wilson, who was kind enough to host our August PBS special, "60s Girl Grooves". I do want to say, that back when I did "Doo Wop 50", and then "Rhythm, Love and Soul" - I had the occasion to really talk to Mary for the first time. Of course, I was obsessed with asking questions about my two favorite Supremes songs, "I Hear A Symphony", and "Everyhting Is Good About You".
As far back as 14 years ago - Mary said something that always stuck with me. On our first meeting she said, "you know, you need to do something with all the girls - I know you're gonna make one, all the 60s female ladies deserve a show like this, they are our American Treasures". Of course over the years and nearly 90 shows later, I never forgot that message. We'd always include the great female groups, solo singers, and female led groups in all my shows - - but I always felt the best way to do an entire show dedicated to it, would be through archival footage. It was very special to have Mary here hosting this one for us - - as she gave me great inspiration for never forgetting the great ladies of the 60s - in all our productions and cd sets.
I think the show and it's new CD set will be real treat for everyone here. It's all archival and we've unearthed some great footage from archival libraries across the world, all introduced by Mary. Having worked with her for three PBS specials I can tell you she is a real champion and a real fan, and I'm honored to have her host this upcoming show for us.
Thanks for letting me share my experience.

Also, in a copule weeks on PBS - - Whoopi Goldberg hosts MY MUSIC's June PBS special, "70s and 80s Soul Rewind". Whoopi is absolutely amazing - - funny and sincere in all her remembrances. Another really great experience. That one starts airing June 1st along with "Burt Bacharach's Best" - yet another show which features classic Dionne and Chuck Jackson back in the day.
I need to say thanks to all of you for your kind messages on other posts - - I see them, and I appreace your words and support. I'm happy to share our series has been renewed for four more years, thanks to your help and support of PBS and MY MUSIC.
