Howdy there, Nightflighters! Welcome to a show that I am most excited about. Over the past few months...maybe longer...I've tried to give you the music that you know and love,
but yet and still [[thanks, Mary!) in a variety of perspectives....the background vocalists, the remixes and extended versions [[courtesy of Tom Moulton...thanks Tom! ...and also yours truly), the Detroit Symphony Strings, etc. Tonight, I have the pleasure of sharing with you
the real, true, authentic and original backing tracks...those tracks created and produced BEFORE the lead vocals are added. Over the past week, I have researched exhaustively [[that a word?) and scoured all available sources to find for you, not only the original backers, but the highest quality. I have assembled Motown backers which I have aired from time to time, and also a variety of non-Motown tracks. What's exciting to me is
that today...as I was preparing for the show...I stumbled upon a cornucopia of backing tracks that I didn't realize existed....and they are quite beautiful and surprising.
So do join me tonight for the unveiling of some amazing backing tracks of music that you are familiar with. All that and more...tonight, on "Nightflight"...on WOMR 92.1 FM Provincetown and WFMR 91.3 FM Orleans and we are streaming live worldwide in digital stereo at www.womr.org [[http://www.womr.org/)
Thanks! John

I'm listening too MJ - from the ATL. The song "1-2-3" by Len Berry does not sound like "Ask Any Girl" at all [[to me).

I never really thought "1-2-3" sounded that much like "Ask Any Girl". However, hearing just the instrumental it does have a real strong similarity to "Ask Any Girl". Do you have an instrumental backing track for AAG to compare?

Glenpwood

Fabulous backing track to Along Comes Mary. The two disc Anthology Now Sounds put out last year of The Association A & B sides single mixes for Valiant and Warner Bros. is stellar and worth picking up.

I never knew Marvin Hamlisch and Carole Bayer Sager had a love affair. Did it end because she got caught with Burt Bacharach between the moon and New York City?;)

Wonderful!!! "Turn! Turn! Turn!" - One of my 60s favorites of non-Motown tunes. Just recently copied it to a disc for a dear friend's funeral as one of the post-service songs.

Howard in Long Beach, CA
