This is nice and clear and one of the few times I actually enjoyed hearing this song.

It's never been one of my favourites but I like this a lot.

For many years Melissa Manchester included it in her live show. She would say it was a "B" side of a Supremes Single. About 10 years ago I got to spend some time with MM and I brought to her attention that it was an "A" side and had indeed hadt weeks. [[ok,. One)

I agree.....that's the best version I have ever heard. Never thought that song was "pop" enough.

What a relief to see you're made it to the other side. I was beginning to worry. Phew!

This is a great song, and the lyrics are well written, but I never thought it would be a big hit for the Supremes.

It's funny... this has always been one of my least favorites. I'm not sure I can even explain why. It seems like it has all the right ingredients: a superb composer, outstanding voices, catchy rhythm, etc. I guess I just never "got it"!

thought it wasn't pop enough but . maybe if it had more of a dance beat ? but this is a good version of this song. surprised it wasnt bigger on the r@b chart though. this was also the time frame when motown closed done detroit and moved everything to LA. to bad, they should have left detroit open and let some artists go to LA, if they wanted

Where's our friend Jimi LaLumia? He has very strong opinions about this song...and isn't shy to state them...!

the version that was played on the radio seemed like it was "missing" tracks & didn't sound right. In the 60's Motown sounded the best on the radio.

Are there any quotes on how Jean felt about this song? IMO she always did a good job and appear to enjoy sinigng it live

i remember in supreme faith, mary said Jean didn't want to promote the song when she asked her and Lynda to do so, perhaps this was the period when Jean was feeling the spirit in leaving. However, she did a great job on the song, and I was hoping it would have been a hit I loved it, and wore out two copies of the single in 73 and 74. that rhythm section was kicking.

lol @ Boogiedown. It definitely sounds like an Al Green song from that time period...
