Paul Williams put his heart and soul into everything he sang. I think he is very underrated as a singer. To me, he was the heart of the Temptations.

Thommg - I completely agree with you. Paul had a wonderfully emotional quality to his voice that could not be denied, just as its beauty, as well, and his ability as a performer. I've always been struck by some of the similarities and parallels he and Florence Ballard both seemed to have shared. And like Flo, Paul would always be missed from the group he had been so much a part of.

That is from "Swingin' Time". It always feel a bit strange watching film of shows we watched routinely as kids.

I may come under fire here, but I think Paul is just as good as if not better than David. "Oh Mother of Mine," "I Want A Love I Can See," "Farewell My Love." How can anybody deny Paul's amazing voice. They should've stayed the group "with 5 lead singers" and not neglected Paul.

Watch david,he didn't seem to be dancing as much as the other temps,maybe his ego was already starting to get in the way!
