Howdy there Motownees [[as opposed to Motowners)!! It's been a horrible time for us here in New England...what with a shocking terrorist bombing at the Boston Marathon. Our hearts and prayers go out to those lost in the catastrophe and their loved ones. This will change things for a while, I know. But "Nightflight" will be here....and thoughts of all the victims will remain with us.
Tonight's show is part 2 of a tribute to The Detroit Symphony Strings, and the very important part they played in the music of Detroit...Motown and Invictus. I will highlight
tracks that showed off what this amazing ensemble did for the music that we love so much.
And joining me tonight...one more time...until the next pledge drive...is the lovely and talented..and the biggest fan of Justin Timberlake there is....Justine Alton!

One element of change on tonight's show.....WOMR has cancelled the remainder of the pledge drive until next month in respect for the victims of the Boston marathon terrorist strike. So it will not be mentioned....but the show will go on. But here I would like to once again thank Glen and Howard for their generous support. This also means that Justine won't be with us...but she will join me in May. Thanks so much folks.

As, I'm certain with all of us, my heart goes out to all those persons who were traumatized and killed by the explosions in Boston yesterday. When I learned of the young 8-year old Martin's death today, I was reduced to tears over the recent photo of him holding the sign pleading against those who hurt others and yearning for peace on earth. I couldn't hold back the tears when sharing that little boy's senseless death during this tragedy.

You are providing a wonderful service with playing many songs that simply do not get played on mainstream radio today and certainly not back to back to back... Also, I never knew that the DSO played on so many Motown and other Detroit songs. My eyes have been opened once again.
