Anyone have a favorite indendent bookstore in your area? They seem to be gone the way of the record/CD store. I love this one. It's huge, independely owned and is actually very customer service focussed. Plus, they have "Otis", the bookstore cat! Can't beat that! Barnes and Noble just can't compete with the charm and service.

No independent bookstores near me and that sucks. I'm so jealous of you right now.....

Memphis still has a few indie bookstores left but many have closed. To me, when a book store closes... it's a sad thing for a community.

John King bookstore in downtown Detroit is still around. It has 4 or 5 floors and an endless supply of books. It's sad to think about the death of the record stores . Flipping through records and being fascinated by the album cover art was a childhood past time.
