GC is a superb singer and there's no doubting the quality of the music on these releases, with the added bonus of extra tracks. Personally I would prefer the artwork to be even more true to the original but I quess you can't have everything?

My copy arrived today. After reading the essay and its continued mention of G.C.'s ability/desire to sound like other famous artists/songwriters, the wheels started spinning.
On "Riverboat", G.C. appears to be channeling Eddie Kendricks in parts; on "Your Love Won't Turn Me Loose', Dennis Edwards.
I don't recall either of these songs being released by either of the sounds-like artists. Are there versions by either in the vault, or was G.C. merely paying tribute to their sound/styles?

Received my copy last week and havn't stopped playing it since. What a brilliant album and proves what a great voice GC has. Particularly like "I'm Gonna Give Your Respect", "If You Don't Love Me" and "Let Me Down Easy", but all other tracks are of a high quality, both vocally and musically. Would highly recommend if you like 70s Motown.

This was a very good album for 1973-74. G.C. Cameron had a lot of different voices inside him. He could sound like them all: Eddie Kendrick, Smokey, Stevie, Marvin, etc. It's amazing he was not a major recording artist. It's a good example of how the MOTOWN Sound had changed by 1973.
