Thanks - and to think some said interest in Motown waning! This is quite amazing. I wonder why this series has done better than past compilations??

The best selling of all the Motown CDS are the greatest hits packages......that's why we keep seeing rehashes of the greatest hits from their greatest artists. These will sell for a very long time to come.

The reason they are charting is that it doesn't take much in the way of sales anymore to chart. At one stage earlier this year, sales of 12,000 CDs was putting you in the Top 10 of the Top 200 Album Chart. And the sales are significantly less on the R & B/Hip Hop Chart.

Universal probably has some kind of promotion on for this series but I bet none of the CDs has yet sold 10,000 copies total. But they will sell and sell and sell and sell on into oblivion.
