Besides "Sorry Doesn't Always Make It Right" and "Behind Closed Doors," what other tracks by Diana [[solo or with DRATS) have a "country music sound?" Obviously, tracks from The Supremes Sing Country, Western and Pop are already on my list. :-)

I always thought "In and Out of Love" had a kind of county fair sound to it.

Ill Set you Free on the Love Child album and I love this song and the interplay between the lead and the background.

I love "I'll Set You Free" but never thought of it as "Country Style"...

yes, this felt country and that's the reason it was the first real h/d/h misstep. that was the not direction for the group the group should have gone. they were a pop/r&b act. i like it now. it would have been a decent album track. those monday morning meetings were beginning to crack! the supremes deffinately needed to be produced, and by h/d/h. so when they let them down, it was curtains for the group. "love child" was silly, "living in shame" a parody, and "no matter what sign" pure camp. only "someday we'll be together" had any class, and that was a solo single.

You might recall that only a few months later, Dottie West covered this song and it made it to Number 8 on the Billboard country chart.
