Michigan governor Rick Snyder has appointed an Emergency Financial Manager to the city of Detroit to help solve some of its financial woes. Though the mayor and city council were against the appointment, something drastic is needed. Many feel that it is a ploy for the state to take over the city of Detroit. Personally the city council is too incompetent to make any positive progress in the city. Mayor Dave Bing has shown time and time again that at the end of the day he doesn't really care about the city or the people of the city. Some argue that emergency financial managers do not work. I know the one that came to Pontiac, MI left the city worse off. The one that came to the Detroit Public School system cut a lot of jobs and left the school system in just as much debt as when he came. What are your thoughts. http://www.seattlepi.com/news/us/article/Orr-to-begin-tenure-as-Detroit-s-emergency-manager-4381792.php
